Our Small Lot Merlot has a velvety red color, with aromas and flavors of red cherry, black olive, coffee and chocolate, complemented by hints of smoke and anise. With smooth tannins and integrated oak that marries with the fruit, this wine has an elegant mouthfeel and a long-lasting finish.

Vineyard:
The Merlot was harvested from the Bailey Hill block in Arroyo Seco, Monterey. The Cabernet Franc was harvested from the Sacchau block in the Livermore Valley. The Cabernet Sauvignon was harvested from the Smith block in the Livermore Valley.
Fermentation:
After being handpicked, the grapes were hand-sorted at the winery and gently crushed and fermented in small stainless steel tanks. The wine was pumped over twice daily and gently pressed, leaving any possible bitter tannins behind.
Aging:
After primary fermentation, the wine was aged for 17 months in French, American, Eastern European and neutral oak barrels.
