Join us for an intimate, sit down wine tasting experience in the historic caves at Wente Vineyards.

Scheduled tastings are offered on weekends at 1:00pm and 3:00pm with a limit of 18 people per session. Private tastings at other times are offered to groups of 10-18 people by appointment only and based on availability.

The one hour experience includes a brief tour followed by a sit down tasting of five limited production, small lot wines that are only available from the winery. A selection of artisan cheeses tailored to accompany the wines in included for your enjoyment.

Special purchase privileges and occasional specials are extended to all participants. The fee is $20 per person and Wine Club members and their guests save $5.

About the Historic Caves at Wente Vineyards
Originally constructed in the late 1800s, these historic caves offer natural temperature control and are ideally suited to store and age wine. In 1985, after Wente Vineyards acquired this property, they went to work renovating the caves. The caves were re-bored which took about a month and cost $250,000. The boring was done in an arch giving more vertical clearance and structural integrity to caves. A center passage was dug to connect the three caves. The walls were sprayed with concrete to prevent flaking and the floors were cemented. The natural temperature in the caves at 55-60 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal for storing wine and is actively used to store hundreds of barrels of aging wine.
