Our Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is named for our vineyards located along the southern hills of the Central Coast. The Wente family farms approximately 400 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards using the two clones originating from California wine pioneer Charles Wetmore’s Bordeaux cuttings in the 19th century. With well-drained rocky soils and unique microclimates, the Southern Hills vineyards are in the most desirable settings, with exposures ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon of distinct character, depth, and intensity.

The 2021 Small Lot Cabernet Franc from Wente Vineyards is wonderfully layered with aromas of red cherry, baked cinnamon and molasses. Ripe red cherry continues to form the core of this wines flavor profile along with a touch of olive and warm vanilla oak into the finish. This medium bodied wine is polished and refined to such a degree that it is eminently attractive right now but should age and evolve beautifully for the next seven years.

Our 2022 Aly’s Pinot Noir was crafted to showcase the Arroyo Seco AVA terroir. The wine has expressive aromas of cherry, cranberry, rose petal, forest floor and cinnamon. Bright flavors of red cherry and vanilla are rounded out by focused acidity.

Our 2020 nth DEGREE Pinot Noir leads with a mix of black cherry and ripe cranberry aromas that are framed by an abundance of sweet oaky overlays. Finely focused flavors of bright fruit and wildflowers are supported by a generous dollop of deep and inviting toasty oak spice. Our 2020 nth DEGREE Syrah has a big character and layered aromatics from smoked meat, graham cracker, boysenberry, and fresh red cherries. On the palate, this wine shows notes of dried cranberries, black pepper, red plum, and fig.
