The Course
Designed by golf great Greg Norman, the 18-hole championship course is a picturesque 7,181-yard, par-72, upscale, daily-fee golf course tucked away in the scenic Livermore Valley, 50 minutes east of San Francisco.
The Course at Wente Vineyards opened in July 1998. With three distinct topographies, native woodlands, mature vineyards and rolling hills of natural grasslands, The Course at Wente Vineyards offers extraordinary visual panoramas and a diversity of play unmatched in the Bay Area. Designed for both novice and pro, The Course has played host to the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship, part of the PGA Tour’s Nationwide Tour.

Can I walk The Course or do I need to take a cart?
Due to the golf course’s terrain, we highly recommend using a golf cart. All green fees include the cart fee, and all carts have a GPS.
Does The Course have a driving range and practice facility?
The Course has a practice putting green and chipping green near the golf shop and a driving range and short-game practice area about five minutes by golf cart from the golf shop. Primetime green fees include unlimited practice balls. If you would like to use the driving range before your tee time, we recommend arriving at least 45 minutes early.
What is the golf dress code?
Guests are required to wear golf shirts, bermuda-length shorts, or slacks are permitted for men; skirts, shorts, slacks, or skorts are appropriate for women. No denim, please.
What kind of spikes are recommended?
Soft spikes only, please
What is the average pace of play?
We expect all groups to play in under 4 ½ hours. We have on-course marshals to help enforce this pace.
What if I need to cancel my tee time?
We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made within 48 hours or no-shows are subject to the full green fee.
What memberships do you offer?
We have two levels of membership. By joining Club Wente, you receive ten Monday-Thursday or five anytime prepaid rounds, discounted green fees for the year, and other great benefits. By becoming a Proprietor’s Reserve Member, you receive complimentary golf, cart fees, and other great benefits for an entire year. What are the types of grass used at The Course?
Greens – bent / poa mix, Tees and Fairways – ryegrass, Roughs – blue / rye mix, Natives – fine fescue
What is the pet policy at The Course?
We kindly ask that you leave your furry friends home when visiting The Course. However, dogs are welcome at The Grill outdoor patio dining areas but must remain on a leash or in a kennel and are not permitted indoors. Service animals are permitted.
This is my favorite course in the Bay Area. Great views, unique design, and always tended to.
