Covid-19 and the #Maketime Movement

Covid-19, for many, took away big parts of our lives. It took away some of our jobs, our businesses, our travel plans, our social life, and unfortunately for some, our loved ones. This virus has made a tremendous difference in our daily lives, but instead of looking at the negative, I’m here to focus on the positive. As Wente has been promoting their movement on #maketime since last summer, the pandemic has rolled in giving most of us the gift to #maketime.

Like many, my life was put on pause; my job ended, travel plans cancelled, and trips to the Livermore wine country were put on hold. But since March, I realized I’ve been doing so much from what I learned when I took the pledge with Wente for the #maketime movement. I’ve written letters, FaceTimed my friends, cooked new recipes, started yoga, walked my dog Hailey, mastered blueberry muffins, sat in on virtually wine tastings (these are so fun. If you haven’t joined one I highly recommend it), played a sequence with my family- THIS IS OUR FAVORITE GAME (You can find this game at Target here)- and focused on my well-being. Believe me, I’ve had my ups and down. My moods have been all over the place, but when I started focusing on the present and the tips from #maketime, things started to change and I was finding peace. Click here for tips to #maketime.

#MakeTime is happening more than ever due to Covid-19. Children are playing outside and spending more time with their parents. Families are taking walks and enjoying the fresh air. Communities are coming together and helping one another out. It is beautiful to see the positive change that comes when we #maketime.

This pandemic won’t last forever. We are strong, we will get through this. I hope that the world goes back to “normal” soon, but also hope we don’t lose the valuable lesson we all are being taught, and that is to #maketime.

Stay classy and stay safe,
