5 Ways to Rediscover Wine Experiences in Livermore Valley

150 A1152 1

Sweet, sweet summertime...

Before the days turn shorter and the vines change colors, come savor summer with us in the Livermore Valley. Since our doors have been open this year, we have made some exciting changes and additions that we are ecstatic to share with you. We invite you to rediscover Wente Vineyards and Livermore Valley with five of the best ways to dip your toes back into the social scene - with a glass of wine in hand, of course.

1. Enjoy a Wine Tasting in Livermore Valley Wine Country

We understand that wine tastings can feel a little overwhelming, especially if you don't have any prior winery experience. But, all you have to do is show up and relax; our wine tastings here at Wente Vineyards Tasting Lounge are enjoyable, accessible, and the perfect answer to "what are we doing this weekend?"

During one of the curated wine flights, you'll be treated to a gorgeous array of certified sustainable, estate-grown wines while basking in the idyllic scenery of Livermore Valley on Arroyo Road. For those that love food, we offer an equally impressive list of shareable delicacies made by our in-house culinary team to add to your tasting. So, you'll find something here for every type of taste bud.

Starting August 19th, we will be open Thursdays from 4 to 8 pm for wine flights and live music. So come wine-down the day with us on our patio at Wente Vineyards Tasting Lounge on Arroyo Road.

Here are some nitty-gritty details to help you plan your wine tasting experience:

  • We love your furry friends almost as much as you do! However, we want to cultivate a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, so please leave the four-legged members of your party at home. (Certified Service Animals allowed)

  • Speaking of guests, we ask that all members of your party be 21+, including babies and children.

  • We get it–plans change! But if something comes up and you aren't able to make it for your wine tasting, please be sure to cancel your reservation before 24 hours to avoid a "no-show" fee.

  • At this time, we aren't accepting walk-ins. Click here if you're ready to schedule your wine tasting reservation.

  • Heads up! The Winemaker Studio & Estate Tasting Room (on Tesla Road) are now permanently closed. However, our Tasting Lounge (at 5050 Arroyo Road, Livermore, CA) is open and ready for visitors.

2. Wine and Culinary Experiences

For all those foodies, take your tasting experience one step further with our wine and culinary experiences. The two new wine and food experiences – The Reserve Tasting and The Classic Tasting, highlight the diverse range of wines and pairing opportunities.

The Reserve Tasting features four small-lot and Nth Degree wines paired to compliment and accentuate the wine's flavors. Made in-house by our chef Tony Glanville, the four-course pairings are seasonally inspired and delicately balanced. The summer menu includes dishes such as Dungeness crab cake with a micro-green salad, lemon agave vinaigrette remoulade, and pan-seared filet medallion with smoked gouda mashed potatoes and grape tomato fondue.

The second culinary option, The Classic Tasting, is a more relaxed tasting flight of four small-lot wines paired with light, shareable offerings. Also made in-house, the pairing currently features a fresh tomato salad and a Chardonnay wood-fired pizza with mushrooms, green onion soubise, mozzarella, and pork sausage.

The menu will change with the seasons so our guests can have a unique epicurean experience every time they visit.

Here are essential details to keep in mind when booking your wine and culinary experiences:

  • The Reserve Tasting is available Friday to Sunday at 2 pm. The Classic Tasting is available Friday to Sunday at 11:30 am.

  • Our talented culinary team can accommodate most dietary restrictions but must know at least 48 hours before your reservation. So be sure to make a note when you book.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate gluten-free dietary restrictions for our Classic Tasting experience. Book our Reserved Tasting instead.

  • As always, all guests in the party must be over 21 years of age. Including infants and children.

3. Live Music with the Front Porch Tribute Band Series

After a year without live music, doesn't a glass of wine in front of a live, outdoor band sound just amazing? We think so... If you're looking for an experience that will delight both your taste buds and your eardrums, you are in for a treat; we're bringing back the Front Porch Tribute band series!

Join us for five fantastic tribute bands bringing back the music of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The series kicks off on August 14th at 6:00 pm with Tainted Love. Meet us on the Vineyard Tasting Lounge concert lawn; bring a blanket and your appetite because local food trucks will be on-site for a delicious, easy dinner. Choose from Cousins Main Lobster and Livermore's own Crazy Empanada, VinX, Marty's Joint, and much more.

We hope you can join us for one or all of our Front Porch Tribute Band Summer Series.

Here are some things to consider while planning for summer concerts in Livermore:

  • We'll have plenty of food and wine available for purchase to fit a wide variety of taste preferences. No outside food or drinks, please!

  • All members of your party must be 21 or older. No infants, pets, or ice coolers. Low back chairs and blankets only, please!

  • All ticket sales are final. Tickets are nonrefundable, and ticket dates are non-transferable.

  • Wente Vineyards Tasting Lounge will be closed on the days of the summer concert series.

4. Take a Hike at Murrieta's Well

Looking for an authentic "boots on the ground" hiking experience with your outdoorsy friends and family this weekend? Well, you're in for quite a treat. Here, we've combined two of our favorite experiences: taking hikes and drinking wine.

Catch some California sunshine with an Instagram-worthy backdrop at our sister winery and learn about our approach to wine growing before settling in for a glass of wine.

Experience the vineyards of Murrieta's Well in the afternoon or at golden hour for a Sunset Hike. This light hiking excursion is around 1.5 miles long and takes about 60-75 minutes from start to finish. During this event, you'll climb to the top of one of our vineyards, explore the grape-growing + wine-making process, and get a chance to capture the most amazing pictures to grace your camera roll. After the hike, reward yourself with our handcrafted wines and small bites from our culinary team.

Here are some things that you should know before your hike in the vineyards at Murrieta's Well:

  • To give us the chance to prepare, a 72-hour minimum advanced reservation is required. Book your hike here.

  • To provide a quality food and wine experience, no one under the age of 21 is permitted–including children and infants.

  • We cannot accommodate pets at this Livermore Valley wine event; however, Certified Service Animals are permitted.

  • Outdoor food and drinks are not allowed–we have all your needs covered!

  • Please make sure to cancel your reservation 48 hours in advance if something comes up. Otherwise, the total amount will be charged to your card.

5. Join the Wente Vineyards Wine Club

There are several great reasons to join one of our clubs: member-only events, customization, and savings.

When you sign up for one of our multiple Wente Vineyard wine clubs, wine is delivered straight to your door each quarter. It's like having a personal sommelier–without the hefty price tag, of course. Designed to fit a wide array of tastes, experiences, and budgets, we're pretty sure that there is a club for everyone here.

And, did we mention that, with a wine club membership, you also receive complimentary wine tastings and early access to our events, food, and wine experiences? In addition, you'll have exclusive access and savings to things like the Front Porch Tribute Band Series, wine release parties, and more offerings here at Wente Vineyards.

Before You Go...

There's plenty to experience in the Livermore Valley, and after over a year of limited in-person events, it's time to stretch your social legs and get back to doing the things you love.
