Summer in Livermore Valley usually means warm days and cool nights. The temperatures are perfect for our grapes which are busy ripening and developing fruit flavors. The San Francisco Bay brings cooling winds in the morning and night, so be sure to bring layers if you join us at night.

Tribute Band Series

Live music is back at Wente Vineyards Tasting Lounge. Join us for three-night series of the classic music you love. Savor the summer night with wine and a delicious dinner from various fan-favorite food trucks.

August 5^th Petty Theft, a Tom Petty tribute band, will kick off the series with the heartbreaker’s classic songs of Tom Petty. Followed by Journey Revisited on August 12, who is sure to play the crowd favorite – Don’t Stop Believin. Last in the lineup is Queen Nation on August 26, who will undoubtedly rock the night away with We Will Rock You. These tribute bands bring the same energy and bravado as the originals and will have you dancing the night away.

NEW Cellar Flight

This summer, we are opening our cellar and offering you a taste of some of our most exclusive wines. Our new cellar flight showcases our nth DEGREE wines that have been aged to perfection in our cellars. It lets you see how a few years of aging allows our wines to develop and express the vineyard’s character and winemaking touch.

When wines are young, we taste the primary flavors, such as red fruits and citrus. The wine will showcase more tertiary notes in a few years, such as herbal and earthy characteristics. And the texture tends to become smoother since the tannins soften over time. We know how tempting it can be to open a bottle once you purchase it, so we have done the aging for you.

Summer Menu Options

Every quarter we look to update our Classic and Reserve Tasting menus to reflect the produce and flavors of the season. This July, we will debut a new menu by Chef Tony, who is working hard to finalize the offerings. He was kind enough to give us a sneak peek of a few of his pairings, including a watermelon carpaccio with crispy bresaola, whipped feta, and a white balsamic vinaigrette that will be paired with a white wine. For the red pairing, he is working on an open-face black bean burger with a triple cream brie, heirloom tomato relish, and micro basil. Stay tuned for more updates on the upcoming menu.

Until then, you can still enjoy our current menu offerings. Our Reserve Tasting menu includes grilled prawns, crispy polenta with a citrus beurre blanc or a pork belly, and herb spring pea croquet with creamy mustard sauce. Our Classic Tasting features a fig jam flatbread with crispy pancetta mozzarella and a grilled asparagus salad.

Our Reserve and Classic tastings are available Friday to Sunday.

Taste of Terrior

Wente Vineyards is thrilled to be participating in the Livermore Valley Taste Our Terroir on Thursday, July 14, 2022. The event is the premier food and wine affair for the Livermore Valley. Eleven Livermore Valley wineries are partnered with chefs from local restaurants to create signature bites to complement the wines. The pairings are judged by Bay Area culinary and wine media judges, and guests have the opportunity to vote for their favorite to win the People’s Choice.

Wente Vineyards Chef Tony will be executing mouthwatering open-faced NY Strip Slider with a blue cheese aioli, heirloom tomato relish, and micro basil. He has paired it with our 2019 nth DEGREE Chardonnay.

Member Appreciation Day

We are very grateful to our loyal club members and want to show our appreciation at every opportunity. This summer, we are thrilled to offer a member appreciation day, where we will extend our opening hours for club members only. So join us to wind down the day from 6-7:45 pm on Thursday July 21st. with a complimentary tastings and charcuterie boards for purchase on select Thursdays.

In addition, we look forward to hosting our club’s exclusive release parties this summer, as we do with every new release. Club members can save the date for our August releases. The nth DEGREE release party is August 7^, and our Small Lot release party will be August 13-14. The Tasting Lounge will only be open to club members during the release weekends.

Sunset Hiking

A top-rated experience at our sister winery has expanded offerings for the summer. Enjoy an educational sunset hike to the top of Murrietas Well vineyard that offers incredible Livermore Valley views. Reservation includes a bottle of wine and charcuterie board for two guests.

The Murrietas Well ambassador leads the sunset hike and has a wealth of knowledge about the winery, vineyard, and Livermore Valley. You will get an up-close and personal look at the vines and the 2022 vintage. It is a wonderful way to learn more and get a low-impact workout. Don’t forget your camera; the sunset view is priceless.
