Unlock the Secrets of Livermore Valley

Your Perfect 48-Hour Wine Adventure

Visit Livermore Winecountry with Justina Vanessa

We recently partnered with influencer Justina Vanessa to explore the enchanting Livermore Valley. Together, we’ve curated tips and ideas for an unforgettable weekend itinerary in this thriving Bay Area wine region. Dive in below to discover how you can refine your wine palate and experience the best of Livermore Valley in just 48 hours.

Day 1: A Taste of Livermore’s Finest

Morning: Begin your adventure at Wente Vineyards, the country’s longest continuously operated family-owned winery. Enjoy a cave tour and barrel tasting of their certified sustainable wines. They have many wines to offer, most of which are only sold at their Tasting Lounge. The Riva Ranch Chardonnay is one of my favorites, and I loved trying their Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc and the beautiful Artist Series. The cool wine caves are a refreshing retreat in the summer heat.

Midday: Head to The Grill at the Course at Wente Vineyards for a delightful lunch. Overlooking their world-class Greg Norman 18-hole championship golf course, it’s perfect for golf and wine enthusiasts. The Grill debuted a new menu in June 2024, and we loved everything we got, especially the Dr Pepper Ribs and Wente California Club.

Afternoon: A short seven-minute drive takes you to Murrieta’s Well, which is a sister winery of Wente Vineyards. The historic property is picturesque. Lush vineyards surround this winery, and it offers a unique hike and wine experience on select days. Hike through picturesque vineyards at golden hour and enjoy a gourmet picnic with a bottle of wine at the summit. It’s a serene and unforgettable experience.

Evening: After a day of wine tasting, satisfy your hunger at one of the many restaurants in downtown Livermore.

If you’re craving Italian, Locanda Wine Bar offers authentic Italian dishes with rotating chefs from Italy.

For delicious and innovative Asian cuisine, try Uncle Yu’s, which has an award-winning wine list and Wente Vineyards’ Riva Ranch Chardonnay.

For small plates and great vibes, I suggest Fat Cat, one of Livermore’s newest and buzziest restaurants.

Nightcap: Not ready to call it a night? Explore downtown Livermore’s bars and breweries. For a perfect nightcap, check out Last Word, Sons of Liberty Alehouse, and Maple Eatery.

Stay: For a boutique wine experience, enjoy The Purple Orchid, a small hotel nestled within an olive orchard. Enjoy complimentary happy hour with wine and charcuterie, plus a daily breakfast.

To be within walking distance of restaurants and bars, try the Rose Hotel in downtown Pleasanton.

Day 2: Exploring Livermore’s Charm

Morning: Start your day at Story Coffee, a chic, modern coffee shop with amazing iced lattes and house-made waffles. Try the Whiskey Latte with house-made bourbon syrup or the Honey Tea Latte.

Midday: Take your coffee to go and explore downtown Livermore’s murals. Many surround Railroad Ave and First Street, offering a fun scavenger hunt and great photo opportunities.

Lunch: Visit Wingen Bakery downtown for delectable sourdough breads, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and lunch. On Fridays, enjoy pizza night from 4 to 9 p.m.

Afternoon: On Sundays, explore the local farmers market on South J Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For some retail therapy, head to the San Francisco Premium Outlets, featuring designer stores like Gucci and Prada.

Or, if you are looking for something active, try one of the many hikes in the area, such as the Del Valle Lake Trail, for a beautiful view of the lake and Sycamore Grove Park for a relaxed nature walk.

Livermore Valley is the perfect Bay Area wine destination with so much to offer. Next time you’re planning a Bay Area wine country getaway, make sure Livermore Valley is at the top of your list.
