For over a century, the Wente family has played a pioneering role in the development of California Chardonnay. This limited release is meticulously crafted from our estate-grown, certified sustainable vineyards and partially aged in French oak barrels. With vibrant notes of green apple, citrus, and subtle vanilla, the wine presents a refined balance of freshness and complexity. This is a classic Brut, with aromas and flavors of pear and dried apricot with hints of crème brulee and apple. It has nice complexity from the sur lies aging in the Methode Champenoise, and has a refreshing crispness and lingering vanilla cream aftertaste that pairs exceptionally well with food.

The 2021 vintage Wetmore Cabernet Sauvignon impresses with its unwavering commitment to the varietal's essence, displaying exemplary structure and a lavish richness.

This lush Chardonnay has plenty of character and is loaded with perfectly ripened apples, caramelized pineapple, and toasted brioche, which team together to form the foundation of this deep and delightfully expressive vineyard selection. The optimally ripened fruit is complimented by a tasteful measure of slightly creamy oak that hints at notes of crème Brule, along with a dollop of buttery richness that lasts well into the lengthy finish. The mouthfeel is slightly viscous and supple on entry but manages to maintain youthful energy thanks to some carefully integrated supporting acidity that assures that the wine is as carefully balanced as it is wonderfully rich.

Our 2023 Louis Mel Sauvignon Blanc displays classic fruit combined with juicy acidity which adds up to a wine bursting with youthful exuberance. This vintage showcases notes of classic grapefruit with additional notes of white apricot, guava, and key lime. These notes are complemented by fruit-driven flavors of sweet Meyer lemon and candied citrus. This wine is well rounded with a balanced acidity, complimented by a touch of minerality on the finish.

Our 2023 Morning Fog Chardonnay bursts with aromatics of citrus and green apple complemented by hints of toasty oak and vanilla from barrel-aging. This wine is balanced by a lingering minerality and natural acidity to create a beautiful wine.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is fully packed with notes of black cherry and red plums from front to back and its optimally ripened fruit is decked out with a generous measure of French oak spice including toasted vanilla bean, polished mahogany, and a hint of clove and winter spice.

The 2022 Riva Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir is a bright, buoyant, and altogether compelling example of the Arroyo Secco appellation. This year’s bottling offers up youthful aromas of ripe black cherries and briary currents that are seamlessly combined with an integrated layer of toasty oak spice, showing hints of baked cinnamon and chestnut. Supple and rounded tannins combined with juicy acidity keep the wine balanced from front to back.

Our 2022 Aly’s Pinot Noir was crafted to showcase the Arroyo Seco AVA terroir. The wine has expressive aromas of cherry, cranberry, rose petal, forest floor and cinnamon. Bright flavors of red cherry and vanilla are rounded out by focused acidity.

The 2022 Baily Hill Pinot Noir is a bright and fruit forward example of cool coastal growing. This year’s bottling offers up youthful aromas of Bing cherries and ripe strawberries that are seamlessly combined with a delicate layer of dark soils, sage, and smoked nuts. Supple and silky tannins combined with modest acidity keep the wine in perfect balance from start to lingering finish.

Our 2022 Sandstone Merlot is supple and beautifully balanced, showcasing aromas of ripe red cherry and plum that are complimented by creamy oak notes of sweet caramel and vanilla bean. Additional notes of white pepper, cardamom, and graphite provide more complexity and continue to develop as the wine breathes in the glass.

Generous aromas of black cherries and currants are at the heart of our 2019 nth DEGREE Merlot. Deliciously deep and focused, the juicy and satisfying fruit unfolds with layers of rich and sweet chocolately oak, but a touch of decanting on this youthful and exuberant wine will reveal additional layers of graphite, maple, and nutmeg with a hint of Livemore dust.

The 2023 Wente Vineyards Limited Release Sauvignon Blanc has beautiful aromatics of green melon and passion fruit framed by subtle sweet oak. The wine has flavors of ripe grapefruit and honeydew backed by bright acidity.

The 2022 nth DEGREE Pinot Noir from Wente Vineyards demonstrates the depth of the Dijon Clone. Dark ruby in the glass, the wine smells of black cherry and blackberries framed by vanilla and toasted oak. Flavors of ripe dark fruits and baking spices are followed by silky tannins.

A tale of two vineyards, the 2020 Artist Series Duetto represents the thoughtful merger of two of Wente's best growing sites for Cabernet Sauvignon, the Karl and the Mel vineyards. The resulting blend exhibits a level of immense richness that is carefully honored by a sense of refinement and elegance.

Our 2020 nth DEGREE Syrah has a big character and layered aromatics from smoked meat, graham cracker, boysenberry, and fresh red cherries. On the palate, this wine shows notes of dried cranberries, black pepper, red plum, and fig.

Our 2020 nth DEGREE Pinot Noir leads with a mix of black cherry and ripe cranberry aromas that are framed by an abundance of sweet oaky overlays. Finely focused flavors of bright fruit and wildflowers are supported by a generous dollop of deep and inviting toasty oak spice. Our Southern Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is named for our vineyards located along the southern hills of the Central Coast. The Wente family farms approximately 400 acres of Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards using the two clones originating from California wine pioneer Charles Wetmore’s Bordeaux cuttings in the 19th century. With well-drained rocky soils and unique microclimates, the Southern Hills vineyards are in the most desirable settings, with exposures ideal for growing Cabernet Sauvignon of distinct character, depth, and intensity.
